Japanese Tomy Pocketmates

Thai Catalogue #:   19

An early pocketeer - it isn't clear from the instructions on the Japanese box how to play the game. Although I've called it pocketeer because it looks at first glance like that old traditional game, I don't think it is played the same way for two reasons: The holes are so deep that a peg fits almost completely into them so it's almost impossible to lift a peg out of the hole. Also each peg has black at one end and white at the other so I think it must be a 2 player game in which the pegs are placed in the holes, rather than removed.

I don't have the American version of this game which I believe is very rare so the instructions remain enigmatic. If anyone is willing to translate the Japanese, please send me an email and I'll flip them a scan of the instructions....
